'Poolympics 4.0', an Inter-School Swimming Competition
4th Edition of Interschool Poolympics.
DPS Kamptee Road, #Nagpur successfully organised 'Poolympics 4.0', an Inter-School Swimming Competition on 14th March, 2026. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from young swimmers representing various schools across the city. The competition aimed to promote sportsmanship, discipline and physical fitness among the students while providing them with a platform to showcase their swimming skills.
Ms. Tulika Kedia, President and Pro-Vice Chairperson, DPS Kamptee Road and MIHAN, Nagpur, joined the programme online and extended her heartfelt wishes to the students, motivating them to strive for excellence and success in all their future endeavours. Ms. Savita Jaiswal, Director, DPS Kamptee Road and MIHAN, Nagpur, also joined online and conveyed her warm blessings, appreciating the efforts of the students and teachers.
The event was graced by the illustrious Dr. Jaiprakash S. Duble, former Joint Director of the Sports Department, Government of Maharashtra as Nodal Officer at Khelo India Games, Guwahati and Director of the National Institute of Swimming, as the Chief Guest of the event. The Special Guest for the occasion was Mr. Jayant J. Duble, International Sea Swimmer, first swimmer from Vidarbha to be honoured with the Shiv Chatrapati State Sports Award for adventure sports. Mr. Amol Harihar Raipurkar joined the event as the Chief Judge, lending his expertise and precise judgment.
The Principal, Ms. Yogeeta Umalkar, warmly welcomed the participants and encouraged the swimmers to perform with confidence and sportsmanship. She appreciated the enthusiasm of the young athletes and highlighted the importance of sports in building discipline, teamwork and a healthy lifestyle among students.
The competition was conducted for boys and girls in three age categories—Under-10, Under-12 and Under-14. The participants competed in a variety of swimming events, including freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly and relay races covering distances such as 50 metres and 100 metres. The young swimmers displayed remarkable determination, stamina and enthusiasm throughout the competition.
More than 150 participants from Nagpur and other districts took part in the event, making it a highly competitive and exciting sporting occasion. The atmosphere at the venue was vibrant as the students, teachers and spectators cheered enthusiastically for the participants. The event provided a wonderful opportunity for budding swimmers to demonstrate their talent and build confidence through healthy competition.
The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony where the winners were felicitated with medals and certificates. Overall, Poolympics 4.0 proved to be a grand success and fostered a spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork and healthy competition among young athletes.
