Code of Conduct
- DPS students are encouraged to prioritize their well-being, aiming to maintain good health and physical strength.
- They are expected to exhibit politeness and courtesy in all their interactions, fostering a friendly and respectful attitude both within and outside the school. Bullying and the use of offensive language are subject to disciplinary action.
- Students should willingly extend a helping hand and gracefully accept any assigned tasks.
- Conduct should always be devoid of vulgarity and obscenity, with students understanding that kindness is a hallmark of a gentleman, while cruelty is a trait of a bully.
- Students should refrain from accepting unwarranted gifts or rides from strangers and must readily decline any request to engage in wrongful activities.
- The school's property must be treated with care and respect; defacing or damaging school property, including furniture and walls, is strictly prohibited.
- Punctuality and regular attendance are paramount; arriving late or missing classes will result in the deduction of house points.
- Wearing the school uniform should be a source of pride for students.
- Students are encouraged to take pride in their affiliation with the school, demonstrating honour when singing the DPS Song and the National Anthem.
- To be eligible for examinations, all students are required to maintain a minimum of 75% attendance. Insufficient attendance may result in ineligibility for promotion or academic awards.
- In cases of illness, students must provide a medical certificate and a leave application signed by their parents upon returning to school after the illness.
- Parents are expected to complete the leave section on page 48 of the school records for each day of their child's absence, providing reasons for the absence.
- Students who were absent the previous day must present a note from their parents or a message in the school almanac explaining the reason for their absence before being admitted to class.
- Approval for out-of-town leave should be sought at least two days in advance; otherwise, a penalty of Rs. 50 per day will be imposed.
- In case of an emergency, parents will be notified and should report to the front desk; direct access to classrooms is not permitted.
- Chronic absenteeism disrupts students' academic progress significantly.
- Students returning to school after suffering from an infectious or contagious disease must present a doctor's fitness certificate. Specific periods of quarantine apply for various diseases.
- Chicken Pox: Until scabs have fully healed
- Cholera: Until complete recovery
- Measles: Two weeks after the rash disappears
- Mumps: Until swelling has subsided
- Whooping Cough: Six weeks
- Jaundice: Six weeks
- Continuous unexcused absence or repeated absence without leave for more than six consecutive days may lead to the removal of the student's name from the rolls. Re-admission may be granted, subject to payment of a fresh admission fee. Students unable to participate in First Term and Second Term assessments due to illness or unforeseen circumstances may still be eligible for school badges at the discretion of the Principal but will not be considered for proficiency awards.

NOTE :
- No fancy hair clips or jewellery is allowed. Boys are not allowed to wear studs. Tattoos are strictly not permitted.
- The use of I-card is compulsory for all.
- As long as a student is on the school rolls he/ she must come to school in proper school uniform.
- Girls must wear skirt of appropriate length. The skirt must fall on till the knees.
- Girls must tie their hair neatly with bottle green hairband / ribbons. (No other colours allowed).
- The cut of the trousers should be straight, fancy trousers are not permitted.
- Canvas shoes must be worn only for games or on P.T. day.
Parents must ensure that all items of their child’s clothing bear the child’s name and class. The school will not be responsible for the loss of any item of clothing.
SCHOOL RULES
- Student must carry his/her almanac to school everyday. It must have his/ her recent photograph and complete identification information and signed by parents.
- Students should be neatly dressed. The school uniform is to be worn on all working days. It is mandatory for the students to wear their identity card everyday.
- Boys should get their hair cut at regular intervals. Girls should plait their hair if it is below their shoulders. Short hair should be neatly combed and pinned.
- Students are expected to respect the property of others. This includes respect for school property. No student should damage any school furniture, write or draw anything on the walls, furniture or in any way damage things that belong to others. Damage done, even by accident, should be reported at once to the Class Teacher or the Principal. Any damage done will be made good by the one who causes it.
- Students who come to school in the care of servants should never leave before the servants arrive. In case of delay, they should report to the school office. Those who go alone should be prompt in returning straight home.
- Students should be pote wherever they go. They should always remember that the school is judged by their conduct. They should greet their teachers when they meet them. Bullying or use of foul language are punishable offences.
- The school reserves the right to suspend or take strict discipnary action against a student whose digence or progress in studies is constantly unsatisfactory or whose conduct is harmful to other students.
- As far as possible, once a child has come to school, he /she should not be asked to come home on half day’s leave.
- Students should get their report cards signed by their parents/ guardians within two days of the receipt of the report cards. If lost, a fine will be imposed.
- Students must attend all the periods. They will not be allowed to miss any class.
- Nobody should indulge in any of the following practices :-
- Spitting in or near the school building.
- Disfiguring or otherwise damaging any school property.
- Smoking.
- Any form of gambng.
- Rowdy and rude behaviour, using foul language.
- Use of violence in any form.
- Casteism, communasm or practice of untouchabity.
- The observance of rules of discipne, of the school and good behaviour is an essential condition to a student’s continuance in the school. In case a student violates the school rules or indulges in any form of indiscipne, strict action ke expulsion / suspension shall be taken against the student. The key to good health is to eat right, exercise right and treat each other right.
