It must be worked for, studied for, thought for, and more than that must be prayed for.” Delhi Public School, Kamptee Road, Nagpur conducted a Quiz Competition on Sports and related topics for the students of Grades XI-XII to encourage the students and widen their knowledge. A talkon ‘Fitness, Diet and Nutrition’ by Dr. ShrutiIyer, Physiotherapist and Fitness Consultant was also organized for the staff, parents and students of Grades VII-VIII as a part of the Fit India School Week Celebration 2020. Questions based on Sports, Sportspersons, Nutrition were put forth to the students. The students used their logical thinking, reasoning ability along with observational and analytical skills with immense enthusiasm and excitement during the quiz. The students showcased their brilliance by rapidly answering the questions. The activity provided an opportunity for the students to explore the world of Sports.The quiz left the studentsyearning for more. Dr. ShrutiIyer in her motivational talk emphasized on the need of exercise for all irrespective of age and gender. She informed the gathering about the benefits of it for reducing stress and anxiety. She also explained the importance of warm up exercises and how one should handle injuries which are a part of growing. She clarified the myths and facts known related to eating habits and exercise. She reiterated the impact of the lockdown on health and the increase in health issues due to the sedentary lifestyle. She highlighted the importance of sports in the lives of students and promoted multisport training for their well-being. It was an eye opening session and a highly interactive session and was highly praised by all. She patiently answered all queries put forth. She gave the message ‘Fitness is like a relationship. You can’t cheat and expect it to work.’ Delhi Public School, Kamptee Road, Nagpur provides multiple ways to gain as well as showcase knowledge and also fosters healthy habits in the students.

As a part of various activities in the week long ‘Fit India Movement’ campaign, Delhi Public School, Kamptee Road, Nagpur organized a lecture on ‘Diet Nutrition’ for the students of Grades XI-XII on 10th December, 2020. The main motto of organizing this event was to let all the students know how their diet is to be and the importance of nutrition in day to day life. A famous saying ‘A healthy outside starts from the inside’ wasexpounded as students learnt about the significance of diet and nutrition towards promoting good health. In the interactive session the Sports teacher briefed the students on the importance of health and fitness. He clarified how to maintain proper health and fitness and enumerated on the requirement of supplements essential to maintain the same. He elucidated the importance of the basic nutrients required for good health such as Proteins, Carbohydrates, Fats, Vitamins, etc. He further stated that these components are required for good physical fitness, muscular strength, endurance and flexibility. He also spoke about the number of calories required fortheperfect body functioning, Body Mass Index and also explained the formula to calculate it. The theme of the Poster was ‘Hum Fit Toh India Fit’ and ‘New India Fit India.The main objective of this competition was to encourage students as well as to ignite the fire of imagination and creativity in the students and give them a chance to express their thoughts through art. The students showcased their artistic skills through an array of innovative poster designsdisplaying importance of regular exercises and physical fitness. They also emphasized on the needs of sports and athletic activities to promote fitness among the young children.There was an air of excitement and enthusiasm as the committed artists sweated to create masterpieces. It was a splendid show of masterstrokes by the young and talented masters. Delhi Public School, Kamptee Road, Nagpur always provides a platform to the students to think out of the box and nurtures their skills and imagination.

Delhi Public School, Kamptee Road, Nagpur under the Fit India Movement initiative organized a fitness Yoga programme for the students and staff members on the second day of the campaign. The main motto of the Yoga session was to enlighten the young minds with a never dying passion and zeal to adopt a life devoid of stress, fear, tensions and other related modern ailments, which can easily be eliminated by the simple asanas and the pranayams introduced by Yoga. In today’s competitive worldstudents are subjected to tremendous stress and anxiety. The pressure to achieve and excel in academics and extracurricular activities is high. The students participated with zeal and enthusiasm in the yoga session conducted by the Sports teacher. The Yogasanas and Pranayam exercises helped them to relax. The students and staff practiced the asanas with great enthusiasm and dedication. Delhi Public School, Kamptee Road, Nagpur always strives to make the students physically and mentally strong as well as develop their overall vigor and vigour.

The adage 'A healthy mind in a healthy body ' resonated with the students of Delhi Public School, Kamptee Road, Nagpur as they joined the rest of the nation in observing the Fit India Movement. To give impetus to physical fitness and health of the citizens of India, 'Fit India Movement', was launched by Honourable Prime Minister of India on 29th August, 2019. The week began with an impressive virtual Mass PT on 7th December, 2020 which witnessed students from Grades III -XII participating with zeal. Students learned many exercises and got the information about the importance of regular exercising in the guidance of their Sports teacher. Due to the pandemic students remain stuck with gadgets and are neglecting their health due to lack of physical activity. This Mass PT stimulated fitness among the school children and made themconscious about physical and mental fitness. The event saw wide participation by students along with parents and staff members of the school. Delhi Public School, Kamptee Road, Nagpur always inspires the students to inculcate physical activities and sports in their everyday lives and daily routine.

Fit India Movement, an initiative taken by the honourable Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi, was launched on National Sports Day to encourage people of India to adopt a fit and healthy lifestyle. Delhi Public School,Kamptee Road, Nagpur live-streamed the direct telecast of the Prime Minister’s speech for all the students, staff and faculty. The students pledged to follow a fit and healthy lifestyle and walk at least 10,000 steps on the National Sports Day and make it a part of their daily routine. The students have also vowed to prepare and implement a proper fitness plan that includes sports, daily exercise and physical activities to create and spread awareness of the importance of fitness. As 'A Healthy Mind Resides in a Healthy Body', the Management encouraged the students to imbibe and implement fitness in their daily routine. Delhi Public School Kamptee Road, Nagpur has always intended the all-inclusive development of the students and believes that the success of the students is determined by their health which is the crucial factor to have an efficacious education.

Delhi Public School,Kamptee Road, Nagpur celebrated the National Sports Day on 29th August 2019 to commemorate the birth anniversary of the legendary Hockey Player, Dyan Chand and his unparalleled exploits in the World of Hockey. It was a moment of accomplishment when Mr. AranyaKedia, Mrs. Savita Jaiswal, Academic Advisor, along with Mr. Ajay Mansukhani, Pro Vice Chairman inaugurated the New Synthetic Basket Ball Court and the Football and Volleyball Knockout Matches under the CBSE Hub of Learning commenced. To venerate the commencement of the Knockout Matches, different schools under the CBSE Hub of Learning ID: MR1340 participated in the tournament. Delhi Public School, Kampteee Road, Nagpur, Central India Public School, SumanVihar, Bhavans Trimurti Nagar and Bishop Cotton School competed against each other for the coveted title. Inter House friendly matches of Basketball and Hockey were conducted to mark the inauguration of the new Basketball Court. Showcasing the array of matches won accolades from the viewers and sports enthusiasts. The National Sports Day Celebrations concluded on a positive note, breathing unity, sincerity, confidence and team spirit amongst the students. The Management hailed the efforts of the students who showcased their best to make the event successful
