Summer Camp (Day 1) at DPS Kamptee Road, Nagpur
The ninth day of the Summer Camp at DPS Kamptee Road, #Nagpur was dedicated to final rehearsals and preparations, with the students showcasing confidence, coordination and readiness for their performances. The dance sessions focused on revising the entire choreography in freestyle and contemporary styles, while Hip-Hop and locking-popping groups worked on group coordination and synchronisation for the final showcasing. Zumba and Hip-Hop sessions involved full run-throughs, costume discussions and focused practice to ensure perfect execution and stage presence.
In the music segment, the students refined their performances in semi-classical and rhythmic Indian music by working on expression and body line. Instrumental groups, including drums, tabla, synthesiser and guitar, concentrated on final showcasing preparation, with tabla and hand percussion presenting rhythm-based ensemble work. The vocal group also practised thoroughly to ensure clarity, pitch and confidence during their presentation.
Creative sessions continued with nature design colouring, Lippon art decoration and colouring of clay flower pots. Digital design activities focused on creating digital birthday cards, allowing the students to apply their creativity in a meaningful way. In Robotics, the students completed and presented their final robots, demonstrating their learning and innovation. The Tech Explorers segment engaged students in creating short team vlogs about their camp experience, while also introducing them to video editing techniques using tools like Kapwing and Clipchamp, along with AI-based enhancements such as auto-generated captions and background music.
The sports sessions centred on preparation and performance, with students practising for showcasing in football, cricket, basketball and hockey. Pickleball and badminton included practice matches, while handball involved application of various skills through structured gameplay. Skating sessions focused on back skating techniques, and chess introduced castling as an important strategy. Karate training included Kata (Heian Nidan), enhancing discipline and precision. Swimming sessions focused on back floating, leg movements and full backstroke practice with attention to body alignment and direction control. The day concluded with students displaying confidence and enthusiasm as they prepared for the final presentation.
