Summer Camp Day -8
The eighth day of the Summer Camp at Delhi Public School Kamptee Road, Nagpur marked a significant step towards the final showcasing, with the students demonstrating confidence and refinement in their performances. The dance sessions focused on the completion of choreography in freestyle and contemporary styles, while Hip-Hop and locking-popping groups practised the full routine with emphasis on synchronisation and expressions. Zumba and Hip-Hop sessions concentrated on performance building, including formation, entry and exit practice, helping students develop strong stage presence.
In the music segment, the students engaged in intensive practice and synchronisation in semi-classical and rhythmic Indian music. Instrumental groups prepared for the final showcasing, with ensemble playing in tabla and hand percussion, and focused rehearsals in drums, synthesiser and guitar. The vocal group carried out overall practice to ensure clarity, coordination and confident presentation.
The creative sessions encouraged artistic expression, with students exploring nature design through demonstration, working on Lippon art designs and creating clay flower pots. Digital design activities involved designing packaging for digital pencil boxes, allowing the students to combine creativity with practical application. In Robotics, the students worked on Robot-4, strengthening their technical and problem-solving skills. The Tech Explorers segment guided the students in developing research skills by learning how to search and validate information effectively using tools like Google Search, Google Slides, Canva, ChatGPT and Gemini, culminating in the creation of mini digital projects.
The sports sessions were equally engaging, with students participating in small-sided games in football and practising overall skills in pickleball. Cricket sessions included catching practice and match play, while handball focused on shooting from different positions with long passes. Skating sessions trained the students in starting techniques for competitions, and basketball included structured gameplay. Badminton sessions focused on toss and lift practice, while chess introduced mating techniques using a queen and rook. Hockey sessions emphasised match tactics, and karate training focused on kumite defence and blocking techniques. Swimming activities helped students refine back floating, leg movements and arm coordination without support, preparing them for better control and endurance in water. The day concluded with the students showing readiness and enthusiasm for the final presentation.
