Summer Camp Day -6

Summer Camp Day -6

The sixth day of the Summer Camp at DPS Kamptee Road, witnessed continued enthusiasm and steady progress as the students further refined their skills across various domains. The dance sessions focused on revising previously learnt choreography in freestyle and contemporary styles, while Hip-Hop and locking-popping introduced the second stanza with emphasis on sharp movements, attitude and performance confidence. Zumba and Hip-Hop sessions reinforced routine practice, helping the students build coordination and stage presence.

In the music segment, students advanced to choreography on the second stanza and the remaining part of the song in semi-classical and rhythmic Indian music. Instrumental sessions introduced waltz rhythm on drums and dynamics such as soft and loud on tabla and hand percussion. The synthesiser group practised intro music and the first stanza of songs, while guitar sessions focused on paragraph-based song practice. Vocal training emphasised notation and alap perfection, enhancing pitch and expression.

Art and craft activities continued to nurture creativity, with students working on wall hanging colouring, 3-D Spring Forest colouring and clay modelling projects such as a clay texture jar planter. Digital design sessions involved creating digital notebook covers, allowing the students to blend creativity with technology. In Robotics, the students worked on Robot-3, developing logical thinking and technical skills. The Tech Explorers segment introduced students to AI-based voice and sound creation tools such as Murf AI, Voicemaker, Beatoven.ai and AIVA, where they explored voice modulation, sound effects and background music generation.

The sports sessions remained highly engaging, with the students practising shooting techniques in football and refining strokes such as the front foot drive in cricket. They also worked on offence and defence strategies in handball, cross-step techniques in skating and one-on-one screening and shooting in basketball. Badminton sessions focused on toss practice, while chess introduced concepts like checkmate and stalemate. Hockey sessions emphasised moving with the ball, and karate training included Kata (Heian Shodan). Swimming activities helped the students improve coordination through full stroke practice, breathing techniques, body positioning and bilateral breathing. The day concluded with the students displaying improved confidence and skill across all activities.
