Summer Camp Day-4
Fourth day of the Summer Camp at DPS Kamptee Road, Nagpur was filled with enthusiasm and progressive learning as the students continued to build on their skills across various activities. The day began with engaging dance sessions where the students refined their choreography in freestyle, contemporary, Hip-Hop and locking-popping by focusing on flow, body posture, footwork and finishing of steps. Zumba and Hip-Hop sessions emphasised musicality and expressions, helping the students understand beats and practise facial expressions while continuing their choreography.
In the music segment, the students advanced their learning with choreography on the first stanza in semi-classical and rhythmic Indian music. Instrumental sessions introduced slow rock on drums and off-beat patterns on tabla and hand percussion. The synthesiser and guitar groups began learning new songs, while the vocal group practised the final part of a raga, enhancing their overall musical expression and coordination.
Creativity flourished during the art and craft sessions as students engaged in paper craft colouring, wall hanging decoration and clay modelling activities such as making a diya camel craft. Digital design sessions focused on creating digital keychains, encouraging both imagination and technical skills. In Robotics, students worked on Robot-2, strengthening their problem-solving abilities. The Tech Explorers segment introduced the students to basic coding through platforms like Scratch and Tynker, where they designed simple games and participated in group challenges by integrating AI-generated art.
The sports sessions were equally dynamic, with students practising passing in football, service in pickleball and stride with front foot defence in cricket. They also enhanced their skills in handball, basketball, badminton and hockey through various drills and techniques. Chess sessions focused on defensive strategies, while karate introduced different kicks such as Mai Giri, Mawashi Giri, Yoko Giri and Ura Mawashi Giri. Skating sessions included T-brake practice for better control and balance. Swimming activities helped the students improve coordination through leg movements with a board, breathing techniques, floating and basic arm drills. The day concluded on a confident and energetic note, with students showcasing steady progress and enthusiasm for the camp.
